The Welcome Centre Shelter for Women welcomes donations of money and various items such as food and personal hygiene products, and we are always in need of volunteers as well. Our most pressing needs at this time are:
- Gift cards in small denominations for any area grocery store, Walmart, fast food restaurant, or dollar store
- NEW women’s underwear and socks
- Gently used or new women’s PJs and slippers
- Bus tickets
- Toiletries: shampoo/conditioner, body wash, liquid hand soap, razors, deodorant, and hairbrushes
- Food: canned proteins, canned veggies, tomato sauce, mac and cheese, side dishes (ex. Uncle Ben’s or Sidekicks), rice, stuffing, peanut butter/jam, cereal, crackers, individually packed snacks, juice boxes, and coffee
- Cleaning supplies: Pinesol, disinfectant wipes, Windex, dish soap, bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, and powdered laundry detergent
Financial and Volunteer Donations
Items that assist us in providing our much needed services
- Your financial contribution, tax-deductible, will assist us in providing support services to women within the community, such as transportation to and from appointments, groceries, supplies for programming (craft items, educational materials, books, etc), various group support sessions, maintenance to facilities, and so on.
- Canadian Tire money (to assist in purchase of maintenance items and cleaning supplies).
- Donate your skills or services to the Centre by calling the above number.
- Single bedding, towels and hand towels.
